Rock and roll records made by good friends telling stories with major chords are a primal element of the American rock n’ roll tradition. And in a day and age where pop hits are algorithmically generated and attention spans are ever-diminishing, a record where chiming guitars, sweet harmonies, and dusky vocals paint aural landscapes is a rare thing. An album with honest-to-goodness songwriting as its founding ethos? A minor sort of miracle at the very least.
